FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW OFTEN DOES OUR COMPANY COME OUT?

Most of our customers prefer service once or twice a week. Occasionally we are asked if we can come out every other week to clean a yard. However, pricing would be within 2-3 dollars of the regular weekly rate and your property would only be clean for 4 or 5 days out of 14. Additionally, it throws off our scheduling and routing so we have come to the conclusion that every other week service is of no value to our clients and therefore do not offer that service.  If you would like to receive information about service more or less often than once a week; please contact Minesweepers at (516) 697-7219

WHAT IF I WANT TO SKIP A SERVICE DAY?

You will not be charged if you call the company office in time for us to tell the service worker to skip your yard that day. If the dog will be gone from the yard for a couple of weeks, or for some other reason you want us to skip your yard for a day or more, we can hold service and you will not be charged .(extended periods of time may require an extra fee)
HOWEVER, if your gate is locked or the dog will not allow us to clean the yard when we come to do our work, it may be necessary to charge for the service call that could not be completed. If, for instance, you get to work and remember that the gate is locked, call us early to tell us to skip that day so that you won't be charged.

DO WE WORK THROUGH THE WINTER?

Yes. Dogs keep making their messes all year long, and Minesweepers continues to clean up and remove dog waste throughout the winter. Some customers prefer to put service on hold for the cold months, although there may be an extra service charge for the first cleanup the following spring.

CAN I PUT MY SERVICE ON HOLD?

Yes — however, service holds are intended for short-term situations, such as vacations or when your dog is away (they deserve a vacation too).

Frequent or repeated pauses interrupt the amount of waste normally collected and disrupt route scheduling.

Placing service on hold does not remove existing waste or accumulation that has already occurred. Any waste that builds up while service is paused is not included, and additional cleanup charges may apply when service resumes, depending on the length of the hold and amount of accumulation.

Pausing service after snow or ice has already covered waste does not reduce existing accumulation and often results in heavier cleanup once service restarts. Yards placed on hold during winter months may require an additional cleanup fee at current rates and cannot be serviced until access is fully cleared.

Active clients receive priority as conditions improve.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN IT SNOWS OR RAINS?

Minesweepers operates year-round.

During snow, ice, or frozen conditions, service is performed when access is safe and available. If gates, yards, or service areas are blocked or unsafe, service may be delayed until access is restored.

Regular billing continues during  winter delays. Winter conditions can result in heavier amounts of waste or frozen waste that cannot be addressed in a particular visit.  In some cases, frozen waste may be left in place until it safely thaws to avoid damaging the property or creating additional mess.

HOW DO I PAY?

Minesweepers will automatically deduct your monthly rate from a credit or debit card on the first day of the following month :(Ex. August will be billed on September 1st.)  Accounts can also be accessed thru our website and paid by credit card online. Payments not recieved by the 15th of the month will be billed a 10.00 finance charge. Any accounts not paid by the first service day of the following month will be suspended until payment is made. Additionally suspended accounts that have a lapse in service of more than one week will be subject to a first time clean-up as explained below due to an excessive accumulation of waste. Only cash or credit cards will be accepted in these situations.

WHAT ABOUT HOLIDAYS?

We do not work the following days:
New Years Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
When a holiday falls on your regular service day. We will usually come the day before the holiday and service should return to your normal day within 2 weeks.

IS THERE AN EXTRA CHARGE FOR THE FIRST TIME?

With your prior approval, there may be an extra charge for first service if there has been a lot of accumulation of waste over time. Pricing is as follows: $85.00 Minimum service fee. Plus $5.00 for every bag of waste collected. (A bag of waste is about the size of a large shoe box)  Removal is included. Clean-ups are done mostly on weekends and payment is due upon completion. Average cleanups range between $90-$120.00 depending on when the yard was last cleaned and how many dogs have been using it. These prices are based a 1-2 month time frame with 1-2  medium size dogs using the property.(prices may be higher for multiple dogs or extended periods of time)

SHOULD I UNLOCK MY GATE?

Yes. Since employees are not to climb or jump over fences, please have your gate unlocked on your service day. Unfortunatley, we do have to charge for missed service calls due to a locked gate. (The first time is on us). If you like you can give us the combination to your lock or we can lend you one of ours for the duration of your service at no cost to you. No keys please, they are to confusing to try to remember which one goes where.

DO WE HAVE A CUSTOMER REFERRAL PROGRAM?

Yes, when you refer a new customer to us you will get one regular service day free. All the new client has to do is mention your name when they sign up for service and Minesweepers will credit your account.  (Not for one-time jobs)

CAN WE WORK WITH YOUR DOG IN THE YARD?

If they don't mind, then neither do we. We get along well with dogs; however, there are some cases when a dog will not let us into the yard. If you know that your dog is not good with strangers, or it becomes apparent that your dog will not allow us to clean the yard, then we ask that you restrain or confine the dog. Techs will knock or text when on the way (if requested). For yards with aggressive dogs we do require a confirmation that the dogs are inside. We don't want to take unnecessary risks with your dog or our employees.
